The floral --plant drawings are direct studies of nature done during a six-year period, except for one. A variety of media--graphite, chalk, ink, water color, and chalk--were employed for different effects. These studies were carried out either in Canterbury CT, where my parents had a summer cottage, or in the apartment I lived in until I was 22 (Apt 2B, 285 Riverside Drive, Manhattan). They span the years I attended high school and college, but none of the drawings are assignments. The portrait in the interior with willow branches depicts my  grandfather’s father, my great grandfather Jacob  Arnswalder. The drawings below are by Susan J. Rosen (aka Koslow).
